266% organic traffic lift for a Phoenix-area roofing contractor
Subject: Phoenix metro roofing contractor · 11 months
Sessions and tracked leads, normalized to each peak
The Phoenix metro roofing market is dominated by national brands and large regional players with established domain authority. Competing for “roofing companies phoenix” head-on is an expensive game, and even ranking #46 there delivers fewer leads than #6 in the suburb where the roof actually is.
The contractor needed visibility for the suburban community searches that match where the work happens. At launch, terms like “roofing contractors [suburb]” and “roofers [suburb] az” were buried in positions 81 to 97.
Audit findings
[Specific suburbs and competitor positions redacted at the partner’s request.]
No dedicated location pages for the suburban communities where this contractor actually books work. Metadata was generic. Specialty service coverage for concrete tile and flat roofing, both meaningful in the Phoenix climate, was thin or absent.
What we shipped
Month one was a technical audit and a metadata refresh. Months two through five were the location and specialty buildout: a landing page for every priority suburb, plus dedicated pages for concrete tile and flat roof work. From month six we shifted into link acquisition and monthly crawl maintenance.
Outcome
Traffic moved from 71 monthly organic sessions to 277 at peak, a 266% lift over eleven months. Ten priority suburb-level terms climbed 70 to 89 positions, with multiple top-10 placements.
Tracked GA4 leads were the more interesting story. From four a month at launch to 137 in the final month, totaling 589 across the campaign. The consistent pattern: a contractor ranking #6 for “roofing contractors [their suburb]” is the first call a homeowner makes, regardless of whether the brand also ranks for the city-level term.
