How we read a local market

A keyword tool will tell you that "plumber" gets searched a certain number of times a month in a city. It won't tell you that half those searches go to the map pack, that locals abbreviate the city name, that one suburb searches differently than the core, or that an old neighborhood name still pulls volume. Local search is full of that texture, and it's where campaigns are won or lost.

So before we target a market, we research how people there actually search. We pull real volume for the service-plus-location combinations that matter, map the intent behind them, and look at who already owns the map pack and the first page.
