Show changes on a resubmitted draft

A content review that has come back for a second look now shows exactly what moved since the version you last read. The testing standard became scripts we run before every change.

On a content review that has come back for a second look, the draft carries a Show changes button. It swaps the text for the same article with removed words struck through and added words highlighted, laid out as the article reads, against the version you last reviewed. Hide changes brings the plain draft back. The bar above it says only that the version was updated.

First attempts and decided reviews show nothing new. The button appears only when there is an earlier round to compare against and the text actually differs.

Behind the scenes

Thursday’s testing standard became commands. One creates a throwaway user and test client for each piece of work, another drives a real browser through the login and the pages the way a person would, a third checks every main page as a partner and as staff, and the last removes only what was created for the test and refuses to touch anything real. Two people testing at once no longer share a login, so nothing one does can trip up the other.
