Listings now checks whether a correction actually stuck

Devon Bate, Founder & CEO at SEO Brothers Devon Bate · October 19, 2026

Corrections sent to a directory are read back after that site's wait and marked Fixed or Still wrong, a listing showing the Google Business Profile tracking number now counts as wrong, and website work gains lanes for new pages and for removals.

Most of the day went into Listings, and specifically into what happens after we ask a directory to change something. Until now the record ended at sent.

For our partners

  1. A Corrections tab sits beside Listings: every change we asked a directory to make, what we asked for, and whether it took. Sent, Fixed, Waiting and Still wrong.
  2. A listing showing your Google Business Profile tracking number now reads as wrong, and Setup names which number directories should carry.
  3. The panel that opens from a listing row leads with where that listing stands and the one action it needs.
  4. Website work has two new lanes, New Page or Template Creation and Page Removal or Redirect, each with its own approval.
  5. The Listings table starts higher on the page, the stat tiles are a row of chips you can still click to filter, and the verdict columns carry a legend.

1. Corrections, followed through

Status is never typed in. After the wait a given site asks for, we read the listing again: Fixed when every field we sent reads right on the page, Still wrong when one does not, Waiting until a read has happened. Where the route to that site is one we have proven, a correction that did not take goes out again on its own; where it is not, it goes to a person. If a directory will only accept the change from the practice itself, the listing says Waiting on the practice and carries the steps.

2. The office line, not the tracking number

Directories should show the office line. The tracking number belongs on the Google Business Profile and nowhere else, so a listing carrying it now counts under Need a fix rather than Correct, and a correction sends the office line in its place. Setup labels the record’s number Business number, lists any tracking numbers separately as profile-only, and warns when the same number has been marked both. Websites we send to directories now go without the campaign tags Google appends, so the listing points at a clean address.

4. Pages added and pages taken down

A new service area page, blog index or starting template had no lane of its own. It has one now, and it is reviewed as a draft on the site before it goes live. A removal or redirect is its own lane too, with its own approval, so a page never comes down on the strength of a technical change nobody asked about.

Behind the scenes

  1. The page where we review what our agents read from calls and notes is now split by the part of the work being judged, each part with its own reviewer, and it opens at once instead of after a long pause.
  2. Our own mail now works the way a mail client works: accounts the team actively works are separated from accounts it only watches, and waiting on us and waiting on the partner each mean exactly one thing.
  3. The agents that get a business listed learned four more directories, and learned to look at a page and take a different path depending on what is there, which is what sites with duplicate checks and verification screens require.
